Actually, I think I really learn a lot about photoshop in this Art Education class, especially when I am trying to finish the midterm and final project on my own. I think I got good grades in the midterm because of my big idea and the photoshop tools I used in the retouching process. In the midterm, my big idea is the dream I had to be a photographer. I think the most interesting and compelling accomplishment is to do the filter effect. I just changed several sketch effects to make my work looks beautiful. When I finally chose one, I found it is better to erase the sketch effects except the camera part. In this continuously changing process, I found that adjusting the effects we used in PS is very important to finish our work perfectly. I even changed my midterm work for 4 times to make it better.

When we learned about the vegetable cutting in class, I found it very interesting but difficult because it is hard to select the things we want and move the selected parts to somewhere we need. But after that project, I just can manage the Lasso tool, the Polygonal Lasso Tool and the Magnetic Lasso Tool to select the picture. In the quiz 5, when making the movie poster, I just used the Polygonal Lasso Tool to cut the actress and actor from two different posters into my own.

In the Brainstorming projects, when I first  contacted the big idea, I just did't know how to covey the pig idea through the work in photoshop. So I was just cutting and pasting pictures together. However, in the midterm project, I learned how to choose the images related to my big idea and then make them friendly adjust to each other. In stead of cutting and pasting, I learned to make them in harmony and in friendly-looking. I think that is a big accomplishment to me.

In the final project, I'd like to present my big idea DREAM in a different way. To challenge myself, I will use the animation effect to finish this project.

Dream comes with our life every time everywhere. In the final project, I think I will choose several scene from diffent picture to present one dream in one image, and use animation effect to present four seasons changing. Actually, I just want to tell the audience that the time flows but our dreams always stays. Also, in the image, I decide to utilize not only pictures but also text to convey my big idea clearly.

I like the video called old boy very much. It was very popular in China last year, telling the story of a boy who is chasing his dreams to dance. Dreams are always there even though we are becoming older and older. I thing I will manage my project based on the video.

This artist is called Weiqin. Her photo works always focus on the daily life every minute we encounter and our teenage dream, and that is where my big idea comes from.

I love the work she do although it seems a kind of trivial, the points she elaborate are always intersting and compelling. For exmple, she prefers to take photo of a corner of the big city and the small events everyday. The first photo I post introduces her with her little dog giving us the feeling that our teenage friend always stays with us.

This is the original photo I select online. It is also an indoor image which has a lots of lamp that I can work on.

Here is my final work.
From the start, I learn to duplicate layers and merge layers. Then, in this tutorial, in the filter button, I choose Blur and Gaussian Blur to make the room darker than before. Besides, I learn to adjust the brightness and color contrast of the picture by changing the number. Finally, I choose the eraser tool and change the brush size and hardness which can help me make the soft lightning around those lamps. That really makes the room soften and warm.

It is amazing to learn this in the tutorial!

BLOG ASSIGNMENT#1

This artist called WeiBB is from my hometown Chengdu China. She is now very famous for her pictures and creation of art. Her ideas from life are fantastic making her photos attractive and creative. However, the more important thing is that she uses the photoshop as a very successful tool to make her photo better.

In these three photos, she catches the scenes that often appear in our daily life. For instance, the little boy who is naked is standing surrounded by the fountain.Then the second one shows that another photographer who also focuses on the old women. The last one is her own hands holding the letter B which presents her name. In these three photos, she always uses photoshop to do the picture beautification such as color adjusting,  inputing texts and making photos together. After doing photoshop,from my point of view, every single picture shows more than what the original idea presents.

Lighter background or stronger contrast bring us more effect than the picture its own feeling. Consequently, using computer and photoshop makes her work excellent.
